Hi, it’s Mike, your personal career coach. Today we’re going to talk about the most recent bank runs and what implications they have for your job search. First thing I’ll mention, though, is that you may see my bike in the background. It’s five years old and it’s a great bike, but I did not buy a shock absorber. All right. Let’s get to the purpose of this video, which is risk. What does all of the bank runs have to do with your job search? It means there’s a massive focus on risk these days. how have you helped the companies you have worked for reduce risk? Let me give you an example. I have a client that’s a CFO, and he was really, really big on putting internal controls into place. He put a lot of internal controls into place regarding capital expenditures. So he looked at centralizing all the decision making when it came to purchases.

He looked at streamlining the whole process to make sure that people who were not important weren’t involved and people who should be involved were involved. So, in sum, one of your jobs as a job seeker in this landscape is to convince any potential employer that you know something about risk and can help them with risk. Or even if you’re a revenue producer that you have an eye on risk not to do anything foolish.
